It is the most common malignant tumor of the kidney in adults.
More frequent between 50 and 70 years old. It affects men more than women.
Some factors are identified as possible causes: smoking, obesity, asbestos, cadmium and petrochemical products.
Symptoms
Some symptoms are: urinating blood, pain in the lower back, weight loss and fever.
Diagnosis
Diagnosis is made by Ultrasound (in its initial stage), X-ray, Scribe Urography, (CT) Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
They are divided into benign tumors and malignant tumors, the latter being more frequent.
Malignant tumors can be of the renal tissue (parenchyma) or of the excretory tract and the most effective treatment is surgery.
There is no effective prevention to avoid kidney tumors. Periodic examinations, every year, are the only possibility of making an early diagnosis and obtaining a complete cure.
