What is Mythology?
The study, research and deepening of popular knowledge about gods, legends and myths is called Mythology. Stories, stories and tales of popular or religious origin are called myths.
It is believed that the invention of these stories was necessary to easily explain complex things to an uneducated population or those with difficulty understanding. At the very least, they served to illustrate a theory.
Mythology is normally associated with Greek society, the time of its emergence. However, it is not restricted to this period and these people. In this case, it is specifically Greek mythology, which sought to demonstrate their Gods and their characteristics through various characters. Each story highlighted the defects, qualities and character of a given God.
Mythology and Faith
During neopaganism, mythology served to replace or create a new sense of faith. It seems that the term mythology takes us back to an extremely distant past, but, in fact, mythology is present today.
An example of this is in the art and context of video games, in TV series or episodes or works of cinema and literature. The best known are Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Final Fantasy.
