Modular Equation

Modular equation is the equation in which modules of expressions that contain unknowns appear.

Examples of modular equation: |x| = 7 , |x + 6| = x + 6.

Example of resolution form:

ADVERTS

|x + 2| = 4

Conditions:
x + 2 = 4 or x + 2 = – 4

Resolution: x + 2 = 4 → x = 4 – 2 → x = 2

                 x + 2 = – 4 → x = – 4 – 2 → x = – 6

ADVERTS

                 S = {–6; two}
